Most Italian wines taste better with food, in my opinion. Especially pastas and other cuisine from the “boot”. This grape resides in Southern Italy and allegedly is grown from vines over 200 years old. The fruit is rich and savory with hints of dried raisin and dark cherry. It’s has a dryness that resembles a Chianti, but a velvet structure reminiscent of Amarone. It’s not a favorite for my palate, but I appreciate the quality and history. Worth trying again. A good price is under $50. Cheers!!
Nice balance of fruit and richness.
I usually prefer Northern Italian wines but this one is excellent. Dry, smooth, light, easy to drink
